One third of Swiss greenhouse gas reduction comes from the activities of the Climate Cent Foundation

The Climate Cent Foundation was established in 2005 by the Swiss business community with the aim of reducing the Swiss greenhouse gas emissions. Its funds are invested on negative emissions technologies in Switzerland or abroad, and in climate protection programs around the world to meet Swiss emission reduction targets.

With the press release of the 24th of October 2022, the Climate Cent Foundation has announced that it handed over to the Swiss Confederation more than 20 million climate protection certificates, allowing Switzerland to meet its international commitments under the Kyoto Protocol to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions over the period 2013 to 2020. Within this period, the Climate Cent Foundation has covered about one third of the Swiss reduction requirements.
