In Europe, our accreditation as a Balance Responsible Party (BRP) in many countries such as Switzerland, France and Italy, reflects our active engagement in the power electricity markets, such as the European Energy Exchange (EEX). Our familiarity with electricity trading allows us to apply market dynamics in the marketing of Energy Attribute Certificates, renewable natural gas (biogas and biomethane), as well as in the sale of energy efficiency certificates and carbon credits.

We recently opened a branch in the United States with the aim of bringing our knowledge and market vision overseas to a rapidly expanding market.

Our journey

Rooted in Switzerland, our initial growth enabled us to expand across Europe to Lucerne, Amsterdam, Genoa, Varna and London. Beginning in 2024, we expanded operations to New York, Atlanta, and San Francisco.

Our commitment and influence extend beyond borders, thanks to our global network of partners. We are proud to collaborate with leading entities such as the IETA, RECs International, the Carbon Disclosure Project, QuiEstVert, ECS Shweiz, EKOenergy, Swiss Carbon Removal Platform, CEBA and more.

2008

In 2008, Alessandro Faccoli founded Nvalue GmbH in Switzerland, marking the start of our remarkable journey: Nvalue was born! With our forward-thinking vision, we identified new business opportunities ahead of market trends, solidifying our position in the industry.

2009-2010

Nvalue entered the Italian market, establishing itself as a key player in electricity certification through Guarantees of Origin. Our mission was to ensure that major electricity importers complied with the regulations set by the Italian authorities (GSE). As a result, we certified more than 10% of all electricity annually imported into Italy!

2011-2012

Strengthening our position in Italy, we joined the European Federation of Energy Traders (EFET) in 2011. The following year, Nvalue made its debut in the Italian Green Certificates market, registering with TERNA, the National Electricity Grid Operator.

2013-2014

As we expanded our activities in the electricity sector, Nvalue became an operator in the Italian electricity market (GME) and took on the role of balance responsible party in Switzerland and France. We also made our first foray into the Italian energy efficiency market by engaging in Titoli di Efficienza Energetica.

2015-2016

Exploring new horizons, Nvalue became a member of EPEX SPOT and EEX, intensifying our activities in the power market. We entered the Elcert certificates trading market in Norway and Sweden, thereby diversifying our range of environmental commmodities.

2017-2018

In 2018, we celebrated a decade of success with the opening of Nvalue BV in Amsterdam. We ventured into the trading of Energy Efficiency Certificates in France (CEE) and continued our energy trading activities in Greece, in the UK’s renewable energy certificates market, and in the biomethane certificates domain.

2019-2020

Nvalue’s portfolio was enriched by the addition of international voluntary carbon offset projects. Our team, now comprising 30 professionals across four locations in Europe, adeptly adapted to the constraints imposed by the pandemic. By becoming official members of the IETA and CDP, we strengthened our contribution to the industry.

2021-2024

We continue our expansion and now participate in E-world, a prestigious industry congress, with our own booth. We have also expanded our team with new talents, including specialists in quantitative analysis and risk management, to deepen our market insights. Our goal is to target emerging markets and expand our international presence, leading us to open a branch in the US with an office in New York.
